Vocational Evaluation

Understanding a job seeker's skills, abilities and interests is often the first step in helping them get ready to work. QuestWorks provides  people with a positive first step toward the exploration of career options by offering a comprehensive vocational evaluation program. By using different methods and tools, a vocational evaluation helps identify the individual's strengths, aptitudes, vocational interests and functional needs relative to employment goals.

Whether an individual is changing jobs, seeking opportunities for advancement, uncertain of vocational direction or wanting to identify barriers to training or placement, QuestWorks‚ vocational evaluation program offers a variety of individualized services to meet each person's needs. Job seekers can learn about vocational options, explore and identify realistic job opportunities, and  develop plans for successful employment outcomes.

QuestWorks has provided vocational evaluations for the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation as a CARF accredited agency since 1974. The easily accessible central location and ability to also evaluate Spanish speaking individuals, helps make career planning a reality for a variety of people.

Travel Training

For people with disabilities, using public transportation opens the door to additional independent living skills, greater opportunities for employment and more access to community activities. QuestWorks’ travel training program teaches individuals how to confidently and comfortably ride on LYNX fixed-route buses and take advantage of the independence and flexibility that come from using the bus system.

The program offers up to 12 hours of free one-on-one personalized training of the LYNX bus system by a certified QuestWorks Travel Trainer. Individuals learn the available area bus routes, how to read a bus schedule and recognize bus numbers, how to get to and from the bus stop safely, important riding procedures, what to do if they miss the bus, get lost or board the wrong bus, how to plan a trip, and important contact numbers.

Job Development

Once a job goal has been established, job development is a service provided to individuals to assist them in finding their desired employment. Employment Specialists provide numerous pre-employment services including an assessment to appropriately match individuals' skills and interests to community jobs, assistance with resumes and applications, job leads and assistance with the interview process. They also provide advocacy and education to the employer and employee as necessary.

Job Coaching

After landing a suitable job, a QuestWorks Employment Specialist is available for individuals who need one-on-one training at the workplace. During the initial phase of employment, the specialist provides the individual with training and support and develops natural supports to ensure success in the workplace.

Follow-Along Services

To help maintain employment, regular visits by a QuestWorks Follow-Along Specialist are available if any additional support is needed.
